We specialize in solar electricity (also known as solar Photovoltaic, or solar PV) installations. Solar electricity is produced when sunlight hits solar panels and produces an electric current which is used to power your home or building. We install solar for all types of users including residential, agricultural, commercial, industrial, and municipal. We also have partnered with Mosaic, to offer our clients quick and easy financing., and can help steer you towards grants that may be available for your project.

The 3 functional types of solar PV we install are:

1/ GRID-TIE: A grid tied solar installation is the most simple, affordable, and common type of solar PV system. The existing utility remains in effect but you only use it at night or when the sun isn’t producing enough power. If your solar array is producing excess power, this power goes into the grid and you attain credits that are used later to offset your electric bill. The energy credits are valid for one year. Depending on the inverter you choose, some grid tie PV arrays will continue to function when the grid goes down but some do not.

2/ OFF-GRID: An off grid system is not tied to the grid and relies on excess power stored in batteries to use during night or times of energy use that exceeds the energy being produced from the solar array. The type and size of battery depends on how much power you will need and for how long; factors which we are happy to help you figure out. Off grid solar systems are sometimes coupled with backup generators as well.

3/ HYBRID: A hybrid solar system is one that is both tied to the grid but also has battery back up and can function at night or when the grid is down due to a power outage.

All of these systems use solar panels that can be mounted on the roof or on the ground or sometimes both, depending on the optimal configuration for the location.

Roof Mount:

Solar panels can be mounted on all roof types (shingles, steel, rubber) and angles including steep pitched, low pitched, and flat roofs.

Ground Mount:

When a roof is not the ideal location for panels due to roof orientation and/or shade, ground mounted solar arrays can be a better option.
